Description
The plastic myofascial release cups are a simple, effective tool to support fascial mobility, reduce muscular tension, and complement pelvic health physiotherapy input and rehabilitation.
These soft, flexible cups create gentle suction on the skin to lift and mobilise the underlying fascia and soft tissues. This technique encourages blood flow, reduces discomfort, and helps release protective holding patterns, particularly in areas affected by surgery, tension, or restricted movement.
Myofascial release cupping may assist with:
- tension in the abdominal wall, hips, or pelvic floor
- restricted fascia contributing to pelvic pain or dysfunction
- scarring or adhesions from surgeries such as C-sections or laparoscopies
- support for lymphatic flow and tissue hydration.
How to use:
Apply a small amount of oil, balm to clean, dry skin or with bodywash in the shower/bath. Gently place the cup on the area and use light suction to glide slowly across the skin. Begin with light pressure and short sessions (2–5 minutes). Increase gradually as tolerated.
Avoid use if you:
- have broken or irritated skin, open wounds, or active infections
- are on anticoagulant medication or have a bleeding disorder
- bruise easily or have fragile skin
- have a known clotting issue or deep vein thrombosis
- are pregnant and have not been medically cleared
- experience significant sensory changes or pain with touch.
