Optimise your wellbeing with pelvic health physiotherapy
Jennifer Dutton
Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Kia ora, I’m Jennifer, a holistic pelvic health physiotherapist, based in Lower Hutt
Since moving to New Zealand in 2008, I initially worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. In 2018, I established Positive Pelvic Health, to help women throughout the Greater Wellington region, with their pelvic health physiotherapy needs. My in-home clinic is based in Maungaraki, Lower Hutt and my mission is to provide comprehensive, holistic pelvic health physiotherapy, for women at all stages of life.
Over the years, I have helped thousands of women connect with their bodies and understand their own pelvic health. When a woman appreciates what is happening to her body, she has the drive and motivation to make lifestyle changes and employ her own individualised rehabilitation strategies. I embrace a wide-ranging approach to pelvic health physiotherapy, utilising postural and bio-mechanical analysis, acupuncture and dry needling, manual therapy techniques and personalised exercise regimes.
I can help you with your pelvic health in the following areas
A holistic approach to pelvic health physiotherapy
I offer quality women’s health physiotherapy care for incontinence issues, pelvic pain, vaginal wall prolapse, and pelvic floor management before or after surgery. The blogs & podcast section explores these symptoms and conditions in more detail, with how pelvic health physiotherapy can help. This is to enable women at all stages of life to develop positive attitudes to, and outcomes with, their pelvic health. When speaking to a healthcare professional about intimate problems, a woman can feel a variety of emotions, from embarrassment, vulnerability, through to relief. To help a woman feel comfortable, understanding and empathy is always used.
A little more about me
These experiences gave me a strong foundation for working with people from diverse backgrounds, including female athletes and sportspeople. Additionally, I dedicated much of my career to helping individuals with persistent or chronic pain conditions whilst pursuing postgraduate studies in this specialist area.
